If we expect a one-time event to bring about any significant change then we are setting ourselves up for disappointment. The key to the effectiveness of any movement is continued motion. If Black organizations and institutions had developed effective programs based on the theme of the million man march and followed through with those programs then the event would have served it&#39;s intended purpose. Otherwise, it was merely a symbolic feel-good event suitable for the archives. The theme of the MMM is still relevant; there is still time to make good on the promises and committments issued at the event.
