BFT Food For Thought: Is It Love Or Lust?

How do you know if you love somebody? Do you love their mind, body and soul? Can you love them past lust? What I mean by that is can you love your mate even if sex is not in the picture? Do you know the difference between love and lust? Let me break it down for you. Love is a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person or a feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection, as for a parent, child, or friend. Lust is an intense sexual desire or appetite; an uncontrolled or illicit sexual desire or appetite; or a passionate or overmastering desire or craving. So my question is do you love your mate or potential mate or do you lust for them?

The Modern Day Matchmaker: "How Do I Know When To Invest?" - Episode 3

BFT Music Spotlight: SWV

One of the things that I appreciate about the Mo'Nique Show is the guests. One this particular episode, Mo'Nique's guest was SWV. You guys remember them...Sisters With Voices. They were the 90's hip hop and R&B phenomenon trio group that was hot in the 1990's. Group members Cheryl "Coco" Clemons, Leanne "Lelee" Lyons and Tamara "Taj" Johnson-George make up the dynamic trio and the original members of this musical talent. Recently, SWV performed on the Mo'Nique Show. Below are the clips are both performances. I still think that have it. They still look hot and singing better than ever? BFT...what do you think?

BFT's Recap of Martin Lawrence's Comedy Show at the Paramount in Oakland, CA

Last night, I saw Martin Lawrence's Comedy Show in Oakland, CA. When I say, Old Marty Mar is back, he is back! He has been away from the stage for about 6 years. I did go to the show with a critical eye. I could kind of tell that his routine was scripted and that was ok with me. I did expect that he would talk about what was going on in the crowd a little more. A lot of people that I spoke with expected it.

The show opened with Comedian Melanie Camarcho. She was funny! She was on for about 30 minutes or so. She talked about everything from her kids, to spousal abuse, to sex. She was quick witted and got the crowd going.

What I was really impressed with was the body of work that was shown before Martin came on. It was really funny and it showed what a great comedic talent he is. Martin finally came on. He came on with a casual outfit. No leather this time. His jokes was timely. He is still energetic. His jokes was for the mature crowd. He still curse alot. He did about an hour and half or so. He had the crowd really hyped. They gave him a standing ovation.

The show overall was great! I would pay to see him again. He was worth the ticket! I hope you all check him out!

Here is a sneak peak of Melanie Comarcho's Standup (not of last night's performance). Be advised very strong language and mature content.

Here is a little classic Martin from the show "Martin". Enjoy!!!!

BFT Discussion: Why Do You Give Away Your Candy Box So Much And So Fast?

This discussion is for the ladies but I am not discouraging the men from answering either. I am just curious...if your candy box (please read in between the lines) is your gold mine then why do you give it away so much and so fast? Why do you let just anyone get a piece of your pot of gold? Is everyone worthy of your candy box or pot of gold? Be honest with yourself! Let me hear from you!!!!

BFT Discussion: What Do You Think About The United States Welfare System?

Do you believe that the welfare support from the government makes it easy for young single women or single teens to have babies? They get welfare check, food stamps, medi-cal benefits without a timeframe. Do you think it should be harder for women to get this benefits or should they get them at all? If they don't get these benefits, do you think that it will less baby making going on? Do you think that it should be made known who the father is if these women seek these benefits? If this information is not provided, then do you agree that these benefits should be revoked? Should there be a mandatory training session for these women to go to work? What do you think?

BFT Discussion: Is Your Child an ATM Machine?

Why do some black women hold their children hostage for a paycheck? I talking about those women who tell the fathers that they can't see or be a part of their children's lives unless they get some child support for that child especially when the fathers are making a considerable effort to be a part of their children's lives. I know a lot of women who had children as an means of getting paid. I am not opposed to getting child support to help out with the children's expenses but I am opposed to not letting the children spend time with their fathers unless the dollar is involved. BFT what do you think? Please weigh in with your thoughts, comments and opinions!
