BFT Discussion: Is Your Child an ATM Machine?


Why do some black women hold their children hostage for a paycheck? I talking about those women who tell the fathers that they can't see or be a part of their children's lives unless they get some child support for that child especially when the fathers are making a considerable effort to be a part of their children's lives. I know a lot of women who had children as an means of getting paid. I am not opposed to getting child support to help out with the children's expenses but I am opposed to not letting the children spend time with their fathers unless the dollar is involved. BFT what do you think? Please weigh in with your thoughts, comments and opinions!

  1. If we were to understand, that we were mated like animals during slavery, We would see how the relationship dynamic works out today. We would take more precaution, and attempt to get to know the individual we lay down with. We would have more respect for ourselves, thus more respect for our seeds. So when children are created, they will be on purpose, and blame wont be placed for not taking a pill or wearing a condom. Women may hold children for ransom, but without sperm, there is no pregnancy. Fellas, if you got the money, break bread!!! Our children are the only things we have. And if you don't want her to have a cent, get it together and get custody. We as men, are responsible for the confidence of our children.

  2. A father should be in his child life any way, no matter the circumstances. And should do his best to support them but not alone the mother has a responsibility also.
