BFT’s Recap of the BET Honors 2010

The BET Honors was hosted by the very beautiful, Gabrielle Union. She presented with lots of style and grace. This is Gabrielle’s second time hosting the awards.

The five honorees honored at the BET Honors are as follows:

Ø Queen Latifah – Media Recipient
Ø Dr. Keith L. Black – Public Service Recipient
Ø Sean “Diddy” Combs – Entrepreneur Recipient
Ø Dr. Ruth J. Simmons – Education Recipient
Ø Whitney Houston – Entertainment Recipient

Now for the Highlights of the Nights…

What brought me to tears was Diddy’s acceptance speech. He attributed his work ethic “I don’t stop, I won’t stop” to his mother.

I loved the performances of Stevie Wonder and Take 6, Ms. Patti LaBelle, and India Arie. India Arie’s song was simply beautiful. But the following performers stole the show in my opinion.

Gospel Singer, Kim Burrell, surprised Whitney Houston with her heartfelt rendition of “I Believe In You And Me”. Ms. Thing did her thing! Now, don’t mind Ms. Houston. She got a little excited. Here is the performance.

Jennifer Hudson did a fabulous job singing Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You”. She sang effortlessly. I loved the performance.

Mary J. Blige was off the hook as usual. She did a medially of songs. She had those folks out of their seats. She did a little of the new mixed with the old.

So there you have it. The BFT recap of the 2010 BET Honors.
