BFT Discussion: How do you feel about other cultures using the word "nigga"?

Here is a topic that I would like to bring light to. A few times, I have witnessed some Latinos and Asians calling each other "niggas". They were saying it like they had a hood pass or something. What was really interesting, they were saying this in the company of the black guys they were hanging with and they had not reaction. How do you all feel about other cultures calling themselves or their friends "niggas"?

I never use the disgusting word. Can't understand why blacks use this word to "bond" with each other when it's a bi-product of the word they used to call us when we were in "bondage". And, I don't want anyone else to use it either.

I don't like our own community using the word, so I naturally wouldn't like anyone else to use it either.

This is a word of degradation and from its beginning in slavery slandered African-Americans as a people. I can't stand to hear anyone use this word as slang or otherwise. It's hard for me to understand why we are not still being kept informed of the history of our people and what they went through to just to be called by our name.

When I hear other nationalities calling each other the word "nigga " I find myself getting a weird feeling about it. I usually look at their faces of the Asians and Arabs that I hear using that word and sometimes I can see that that person knows that it is a word used in the hatred toward the African American/Arabic race (recently learned that Euro/Caucasian people called Arabs "desert niggers(or something like that"). I have such a huge amount of pity for people who are ignorant (like the white and hispanic people who use it). I am in no way racist because I have recognized their behavior and I know that we are all God's children and that He loves all of us the same. I think som eof the Indians that I have heard use the word get scared when they use it in front of a black person...so I think they know the what it was meant for as well. I pray that the Lord will at some point in my life eradicate those feelings that I have because those feelings make me feel defensive/angry sometimes.
