BFT Discussion: Why Are Black Women Single?

Here is a piece on why so many black women are not married. I thought the "black girl curse" only applied to me. I am a 40 year-old black woman who is still single and would love to get married one day. There is one thing, I am not going to accept any man who can't give me what I deserve. I deserve love, honesty, truth, communication, respect, loyalty, etc. I am of the opinion that it may not happen for me but who knows what God has in store. If it doesn't happen for me, then I will be accepting of that. If it does happen, then I hope my marriage is with a wonderful man who truly loves and adores me with all of the other qualities that I seek. Single ladies how do you feel about this issue? Single black men, what are you thoughts?

I am going to be getting a divorce. I don't want to but my husband has a drug problem. I can no longer deal with it. He is a good man. He will not work at staying clean. He takes the truck and I am stranded at home. I tried to remain with him. I do not hate him, but he takes too much to cope with. That is why I am going to be single. I want the good man without the devastating problem.
